About Us

The purpose of the Astronomy Club is to advance the awareness of the cosmos and optical observation of outer space, on the Brandeis campus. The club hosts group star and celestial gazing on telescopes, astronomy lectures, and astronomy related events associated with the Physics Department. We promote documentation of space through astrography using the 24” Cassegrain primary telescope and the 8” Celestron finderscope. The aim of the Astronomy Club is as a conduit for the Brandeis community’s maximal use of the Observatory and telescope while not compromising the optics and specialized equipment housed there.
