Brandeis Pilates Club’s goal is to improve the physical health and mental health of all the students at Brandeis. We welcome all students whether they have experience with pilates or not. We will tailor the class to our members capabilities, strengths, and areas of improvement. The beauty of pilates is that it is accessible and adjustable. Each pilates class focuses on the entire body. In one hour, we will train the core, upper body, and lower body. We will also work on enhancing flexibility and posture while emphasizing the importance of breathing. Joseph Pilates once described pilates as “the complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit,” and we will teach our class how to integrate one’s body and mind in order to have a well-balanced life at Brandeis.
